InvITs: The Right Time to Invest?

With the Capex cycle in full swing in both private and public sectors, investment opportunities in the real estate sector may seem like a nice opportunity for investors who are wanting to diversify and hedge risk against equities in the future.

While Real Estate in essence may not be the best choice due to its high illiquidity, high costs, etc, to invest in, you may want to consider InVITs.

InvITs are mostly structured as trusts, & an independent trustee holds assets on behalf of individual investors

And it turns out that forming a Trust under Indian Tax laws offers great tax benefits which might not be available by investing in individual corporations.

From an economic argument, this also helps in capital recyclability to fund more infra projects.
