A lot of investors are concerned if paying a percent extra to someone to manage their investments is the right choice or not.

Well, a lot of it has to do with the investor’s perspective and situation. For an investor who is confident about handling his or her portfolio and at the same time monitoring and rebalancing it at regular intervals, the direct plans works well in their favour as the investor has a chance to maximize returns while keeping the cost low.

But on the other end, we’ve seen many investors make the mistake of investing in a direct plan, purely to save a percent, with minimal to no rebalancing eventually ending up incurring a bigger loss due to wrong calls on the portfolio and a lot more.
